About the event

🌍 Savoring Science: Food for the Planet

Celebrate Earth Day and CCM's Greenscape Planting Day with a hands-on science experience designed just for kids! In this fun and engaging workshop, young learners will explore how everyday food waste—like fruit peels, carrot pulp, and eggshells—can be transformed into rich compost that helps plants grow. We’ll enjoy sustainable snacks, build our own compost-in-a-jar experiments, and plant the first seedlings in the CCM community garden!

Kids will:

🫙 Sort food scraps and create their own compost jar

🌱 Plant herbs and vegetables in compost-rich soil

📘 Hear an Earth-themed story and make an eco pledge
