Looking for a way to make this a better world for children, starting with our own? Chesapeake Children's Museum serves children in the city of Annapolis, Anne Arundel County, and surrounding areas. Your children are welcome while you perform most volunteer duties.

Below are ongoing volunteer opportunities at Chesapeake Children's Museum.

EXHIBITS
Help design, install and/or maintain exhibits at the
museum. Organize, tidy and rearrange furniture as
needed. Helpful skills would also include sewing and
painting.

EVENTS
Help develop both in-person and online activities
for children and families for the coming year. Your
ideas are welcome! Attend partner meetings as
requested and take meeting notes. Present notes to
CCM staff as needed.

MARKETING AND PUBLICITY
Write and send press releases about upcoming
programs, new exhibits and other museum news to
the local media. Help boost our social media presence (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube). Help build our Pinterest portfolio. Clean and organize our website, create content to add. Assist Museum Director as needed to develop and publish monthly newsletter contributions. Gather or create the written content, photographs and ads.

VIRTUAL PROGRAMS
Help to plan virtual classes, workshops, story times, special events, etc. for children of all ages and their families. Support program facilitators as needed.

GROUNDS AND FACILITIES
Gardening, litter pick up, paint touch-ups, sewing and repairs of exhibit items. Handyman/woman tasks around the building. Pack creative kits with staff. Learn how to feed the animals and assist staff with daily feedings.

FINANCE AND DEVELOPMENT
Analyze the financial inflows and outgoes of the museum for future planning. Seek out and write grant proposals. Design or help with fundraising activities and events. Solicit donations. Acknowledge major contributors.

ADMINISTRATION
